Alpha Natural Resources receives $500M bid for mines

Alpha Natural Resources said it has received a $500 million bid to acquire its Greene County mines, natural gas reserves in southwestern Pennsylvania and assets in other states that would pave the way for the mines to be sold by bidding or auction in the spring. Lawyer convicted of insider trading in connection with Harleysville-Nationwide deal

A former Fox Rothschild partner was convicted Friday of insider trading after making moves with stock of Harleysville Group in advance of the 2011 announcement of a $760 million merger between the insurance carrier and Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. A federal jury in Philadelphia also convicted Herbert Sudfeld, 64, of Doylestown, Pa. with making a false statement and he now faces possible jail time and a fine. KC lawyer says he's innocent, didn't steal from trust accounts

Dennis Owens, a former Missouri Lawyer of the Year who is being investigated for allegedly stealing money from two client trust accounts, said he's innocent and plans to file a motion to vacate the Missouri Supreme Court order to suspend his license. Wells Fargo wins first round against Vikings in U.S. Bank Stadium photo-bomb fight

A federal judge has refused to order Wells Fargo & Co. to immediately cover its rooftop signs next to the Minnesota Vikings' new U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis.
