Still, the shiny "FOD" was not the weirdest thing spotted yet by Curiosity on her trek to Glenelg.

The field of tafoni rocks near the Bathurst Inlet holds even more exciting secrets: some of the rocks feature ribbed radial patterns similar to the echinoids and ammonites fossils on Earth. This could be remnants of past aquatic lifeforms that may have inhabited the Gale Crater environment hundreds of million years ago, as discussed on the youtube CuriosityOnMars channel:
