It is nice to hear that the topic of climate change is being argued over in the higher circles, although they al see it from the point of view of money...they may not believe in it (the cimate change sceptics) and if they do (charles and lib dems) I don't think they really realise what the real cost of this global scale climatic departure is going to be...which is everyones way of life.

There are already huge differences in the mean size of snapper on Andros on the inhabited side of the island due to over fishing and the increased hurricane frequency has demolished many elkhorn communities, overfishing and climate change are two huge threats to the  coral reefs in hour Bahamas.

A Newcastle sailor's trip across the Pacific Ocean after the Japan tsunami was frighteningly similar to a nightmare.
Matthew Thurlow's insight:

natural disasters are tragic but often momentary in timescale in comparison to what we as humans are doing as a throw away society on a global scale, it's no different from the western world to the third world everything we use is designed to last. That does not mean designed to work, as everything these days seems to be designed to fail but all the materials are designed to remain behind for many hundreds of years. Getting to the production companies and consumers can be the only ultimate way to reduce our destructive footprint on our planet.
