People need to start creating "un-resumes'"

I believe that paper resumes' are becoming a waste of time.  It takes too much time to create them.  It takes too much time to send them.  And, once sent, the chances that you receive any feedback at all - be it positive or negative is rare.  Therefore, I say just send a email to the prospective employer with a link to your Linkedin profile where the employer can make the decision to download the resume' from the BoxNet app.

But, here's an idea that is somewhat "outside the box" of conventional thinking, which I do believe is worth the time, effort and expense.  Create a Needs Sheet for yourself at www.about.me.  Then, create a Word document based up the contents of that sheet.  Next?  Print out the Word version of your sheet on card stock.  Laminate the card stock  in plastic.  Place a 3M wall sticker on the back.  Glue a Post-It pack to the front.  Make sure every sheet of the pack has a link to your online version of that sheet.  Now, place that card stock in a large envelope with a cover letter addressed to the general manager of a local newspaper, radio or TV station.  Instruct the recipient to place your Need Sheet on the lunchroom wall.  Why?  Because you are interested in garnering a better future for your life.  You have a great deal to offer the local community.  And, what better and more cost-effective way to prove it than informing everyone who works at a media outlet via their lunchroom with a Need Sheet that empowers them to actually bookmark the evidence on their personal computer?
