Back in May Google teased us with a preview of Google Play for Education. Today, Google Play for Education went live for K-12 schools in the United States. Google Play for Education features curated collections of apps, books, and videos appropriate for students. The collections can be searched by grade, subject, and Common Core standard.

Every Monday, my seventh grade English teacher would have us copy a list of 25 words she'd written on the board. We'd then look up the dictionary definitions and copy those down.

 

Good, now you know it. Test on Friday and never for those 25 words to be seen again. Poof. Old school, yes. Mundane task, yes. Did it work? I don't remember. Probably not.

As teachers in many communities in the U.S. are being evaluated using new tools this post provides guidance on how technology may be used in the area of Instruction and an additional three posts are available on the site that address how technology may be used in Planning and Preparation, The Classroom Environment and Professional Responsibilities. All are based on the Danielson Framework (and a link to this is available).

Each of the post looks at the domain and contains a Prezi which ideas, resources, videos and more. Consider sharing these resources with faculty at your school.
