Obesity has become a major problem in Australia and Australians are now getting as fat as people living in the United States.


2. How does this article relate to what we have been talking about in class?

If we want to stay healthy we need to get the right amounts of exercise and eat a healthy diet. But if we eat a lot of processed or 'fast' food then we will get fat and experience health problems.

 

3. How do I feel about this article?

Obesity needs to be a problem that we address sooner rather than later as it will cost the nation a lot in terms of more health care and reduced life expectancy for younger generations.

While the impact of smoking is slowly starting to decrease, latest statistics show its still a problem among young women across Australia.

Although there is a greater awareness about the dangers of smoking, it appears that the messages are not getting through to young women who are either refusing to quit, or still taking up smoking, despite knowing the risks involved.

 

3. How do I feel about this article?

I can't understand why a girl will smoke when she knows it is really damaging to her health and that its a really bad look.

We have been learning about the dangers of alcohol misuse among young people.

It is interesting that alcohol is recognized as an international problem and that other countries are taking steps to address the issue.
