How Sad - Unfortunately this is just a reflection of our times - an Olympic Gold Medallist proud to have cheated his fellow competitors. Just give the medal back Cameron - you are a disgrace!

 

Cameron van der Burgh has admitted using an illegal dolphin kick on his way to winning the 100m breaststroke gold medal but is allowed to keep his medal as FINA are unable to sanction him.

GB 4- Rowing in Athens Olympics 2004

I was fortunate enough to listen to a one hour talk by Sir Matthew Pinsent on our fantastic island in the middle of the Mediterranean a couple of years ago - truly humbling and inspiring - very few people realise just how hard Olympians need to work, and for how long, in order to win an Olympic medal. Sir Matthew won 5 Gold medals - check out this race - his fifth Gold - the only one without the great Sir Steve Redgrave as his partner.
