(There's a great picture in this article that doesn't show up here.) I happen to love carrots, but a lot of people don't. Here's an easy trick - grate carrots into your burrito or spaghetti sauce. The flavor is disguised but you still get the nutrition bonus.

 

Little tips like this remind us that it isn't necessary to give up everything you love and change your entire diet tomorrow. You can always start with small changes, and any step in the right direction is better than no step at all.

Great idea, and if you don't have Trader Joe's in your area look for an alternate. Two of the most common mistakes people make when cooking is using the wrong kind of oil or using too much oil.

 

Another idea ... It's easy to get a little too heavy handed with oil. I've never quite mastered the art of "drizzling". One solution is an oil mister. Chocolate is healthy as it’s practically salad. Chocolate comes from coca, which comes from a tree. That makes it a plant. Therefore, chocolate counts as salad. Eat up.

I do admire the purists, but I have to be honest with myself. I'm never going to give up every food that's bad for me, and that's okay. I don't have to strive for perfection, just improvement. Meanwhile, it always helps to keep your sense of humor.

I'm convinced that one of the biggest causes of bad health these days is the "poisons" we're eating. I doubt I'll ever completely give up bad things like sugar, but I'm at least finding ways to eliminate a whole lot of preservatives, pesticides, and all kinds of other unknown chemicals from my diet.
