Live Streaming Concerts at Home
Don't like the feeling of being pushed forward and squeezed into a barrier just to see your favorite band perform live? Now you don't have to fight for the best seat in the venue. You can live stream your favorite artists from home. You get all the action for a significantly lower price as well, but is it really the same? Is watching the artist perform live on your tv up to par with actually being at the event? You get the comfort of using a clean bathroom with this method but you don't get the rush and excitment of being part of the show.

How LiveStreaming and Social Media Affect the Live Concert Biz with Nic Adler

How LiveStreaming and Social Media Affect the Live Concert Biz with Nic Adler | Live Streaming Concerts at Home | Scoop.it
With the advent of live streaming technology, the concert experience has changed. Now, audiences can experience a live performance from the comfort of
Rob Prager's insight:

This interview with the owner of the Roxy Theatre talks about how live streaming can be a positive for the industry, but while watching this interview it made me think about concert attendance. I don't have any doubt in my mind that people perfer being there over streaming but could this change other peoples view of live shows? Effect venues in a negative light by hurting the attendance at the venue if people choose to go with streaming it in the comfort of their home?

The head of listings for IROCKE tells us all about his service that serves as a guide to couch tour.
Rob Prager's insight:

In this interview an IROCKE employee head of listings talks about how he thinks "...the live digital model will become larger than physical music and recorded music combined." He believes it will become the backbone of the music industry. Although the site has some impressive numbers such as 150million viewers, I don't believe it's going to be the backbone of the music industry. I can't watch a live stream while sitting in my car going to school unless I have a deathwish of a car accident. But I can always listen to a CD safely on my way to school.

Live and not near you: The streamed concert

Live and not near you: The streamed concert | Live Streaming Concerts at Home | Scoop.it
Your sofa is probably not a hotbed of new technology but what you choose to do on it may be important for the future of live music.
Rob Prager's insight:

I chose to scoop this source since its one hundred percent reliable. This article was posted by usatoday.com. USA Today is one of the most credited and reliable resources in todays world. It also brings up a good point when Alex Pham (A Senior Correspondant for Billboard) states that even with streaming it's no where near as good as actually being there.

Would You Skip A Concert If It Was Live-streamed?

Would You Skip A Concert If It Was Live-streamed? | Live Streaming Concerts at Home | Scoop.it
Live-streaming is a nice additive to the concert-going experience, but will it ever replace sold-out arenas?
Rob Prager's insight:

I thought this article was a great addition to my "Scoop.it!". It talks about how live streaming is a nice addition to live concerts, but it can never replace a live concert experience. My opinion is most people no matter what age want to be at a live concert to see there favorite performers. I see live streaming as an alternative when its not possible to be at an event. The only way I can see live streaming being so beneficial is because venue's have a capacity number. They become full and there is no way around this for safety reasons. But if shows weren't able to be sold out I don't think live streaming would be nearly as popular.

Live Concert Recordings Streamed Online
Rob Prager's insight:

This website is not only for entertainment but it could also be historical. This website takes live streamed concerts and archives them up until the passed fifty years. I think that's incredible, any world changing or historic performances can be watched whenever you please. This gives you the opportunity to give your kids or other loved ones a taste of your childhood and a nice little flashback for you as well. I scooped this because it shows another side to live streamed concerts, it makes it a greater memory you can relive to an extent. It also lets newcomers study the past.  It gives us an insight on different light show designs, equiptment used, and stage designs throughout the past 50 years.

Watch live concerts online. Two-thirds of profits go to musicians and venues.
Rob Prager's insight:

This website offers the service of live streaming concerts at home, it has a huge selection and what I find interesting is that you can pick a venue which means you can watch the show live from a local venue. So if you don't feel like getting dressed and going out you can still see an amazing show. Maybe even see one of your friends on the live stream. I also like how the ticket price per show is an average of 5 dollars, so if you're a little strapped for cash you don't have to miss out on all the action.
