PHILADELPHIA — August 12, 2014 — On October 22, 2014, HB Litigation Conferences will produce a continuing legal education seminar featuring defense and in-house counsel from leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies, HB Managing Director Tom Hagy announced today.

The program, titled the Drug & Device Defense Forum, will cover litigation and regulatory challenges facing the industry.  “We are proud to announce that the program will be chaired by two women who bring a wealth of experience and insight to the event,” Hagy said.  They are Megan E. Grossman of Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney and Michelle Hart Yeary of Dechert LLP.

The seminar will take place at The Hub Cira Center, adjacent to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station.

“This program will be for defense counsel only,” Hagy said, noting that his company runs separate events for plaintiff and defense attorneys to “foster candid discussion and relatively open sharing for a more productive educational experience.”

Grossman and Yeary have developed an agenda that will cover recent guidance and what to watch from the FDA; top decisions from 2014 and what to watch in 2015; preemption, fraud, and negligence;  modern sales and marketing issues; the definition of healthcare providers; the relationship between insurance counsel and outside counsel; and ethical challenges facing litigators.
