A plataforma on-line permite que qualquer pessoa participe de uma pesquisa científica e já reúne 282 usuários atuando em 13 projetos.
No ar há um ano, o site é fruto da tese de doutorado em Sistemas da Informação, pela UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro), da bióloga Gilda Esteves.
O pesquisador cadastra as tarefas e recompensas pela colaboração, se houver. Os brindes ficam a critério do pesquisador e podem ser desconto em cursos e equipamentos, por exemplo.
Alguns artigos já foram publicados também com agradecimentos aos voluntários.
Do outro lado, o voluntário escolhe o projeto, realiza as atividades e envia os dados. Assim, é criada uma comunidade em prol da ciência.
