This article is about how binge drinking is more harmful for girls than it is to boys (according to the studies made by the University of California).

"Nearly 3 out of 10 American teenagers in their final year of high school had reported binge drinking in the last month" published in a Clinical and Experimental Research magazine. They also stated that women may be more vulnerable to negative affects of alcohol compared to men, as they female brains develop a year or two earlier than a boy's brain. Another reason include hormonal differences and also a girl's slower rate of metabolism.

This article states that teens are more vulnerable to developing various addictions relating to alcohol, drugs, nicotine etc. An assisstant professor of psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine suggested teenagers are more affected by their alcohol intake and the risk of addiction as particular sets of the adolescent brain circuits are involved in the development of addictions are the same ones that are rapidly undergoing change during adolscensce. These conditions also relfect a less mature neurological system of inhibition, which leads to impulsive behaviour, which can include experimentation of addictive drugs.
