Designer Babies – Like It Or Not, Here They Come

Designer Babies – Like It Or Not, Here They Come | Life Science | Scoop.it
Long before Watson and Crick famously uncovered the structure of DNA in 1953, people envisioned with both horror and hope a day when babies could be custom designed — free of inherited disease, yet equipped with superior genes for good looks, intelligence, athleticism, and more. Now the beginnings of the day of designer babies have finally come. http://tinyurl.com/baeqm9

A Student-Led, Flipped, Inquiry-Based Learning Classroom Doing Authentic Work

A Student-Led, Flipped, Inquiry-Based Learning Classroom Doing Authentic Work | Life Science | Scoop.it
“ A Student-Led, Flipped, Inquiry-Based Learning Classroom Doing Authentic Work” A recent popular magazine asked what education will be like for the class of 2025. While the accompanying article mostly rehashed the ongoing debate between content and process, I saw the cover and had a one-word answer: research. Knowledge is more accessible than ever before, and current technology allows people to tap into information anywhere, anytime. The internet updates that knowledge every moment as we speak.

50 Education Technology Tools You Can Start Using Today - Edudemic

50 Education Technology Tools You Can Start Using Today - Edudemic | Life Science | Scoop.it

Finding the best education technology tools is a time-consuming task. It may even be viewed as a chore (for some). Typically, one tracks down a handful of useful apps or web tools and puts them through their paces at home. Then you probably don’t use any of them because each tool took far too long to understand, use, become accustomed to, and actually implement in a classroom.

That’s why I was so excited to find this Symbaloo created by user lcobbs detailing 50 great classroom tools that are all easy to implement into just about any classroom.

From Animoto toPrezi to Dropbox to Stixy (wait what?), there’s a lot to check out. Don’t know all 50 tools? I didn’t! Click on each icon to get an idea about each tool and learn more.
