3 Google Resources for Student Centered Writing by @shfarnsworth | Learning is a Jam | Scoop.it

In a student-centered writing classroom, students may be in various stages in the writing process. Wow. I'm not a language arts teacher but I know it is still my responsibility to help develop student literacy. It is always fascinating to see how language arts teachers (or in this case, an English teacher) go about scaffolding student work.

Here is a really good example of using the power of online applications to not only enhance student writing but to help students organise themselves.

I particularly liked using Google Drawing for "Hexagonal Thinking", illustrated above, to help students in the pre-writing stage.  Students can get ideas down, rearrange and colour them to show how ideas are connected and then use it to start the research phase of their writing.
