I believe that the new technology in our society that we are adapting to, is making us more lazy when it comes to reading.  There are many statistics out there about the average number of college students who admit to reading a novel after graduation, and the percentages are shockingly low.

This is an interesting page on a debate on whether competition is necessary in the learning process. My opinion still varies, but I believe competition in the learning process can motivate students to perform their best efforts, or it can discourage students.

Most teachers don' t need to speak the native language in order to help English language learners with basic learning skills.  Starting in early childhood there is a lot of support in school systems for English language learners and to help them feel comfortable in a school setting, when they may not understand what's going on.
