The white truffle season here in Le Marche lasts from early October to December and attracts a lot of attention as it is the only time when the prized white truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico) is available.. Originally pigs were used to seek out the truffles but, as they have such a strong liking to them, truffle dogs are now trained and used for the same task to ensure the precious find remains uneaten on discovery. |
