Explanation About Compromise Agreement

A compromise agreement is an arrangement, regulated by statute, between employee and employer under which the employee receives consideration that he or she will not take any further claim against the employer.

1,000 criminals use human rights laws to evade deportation

1,000 criminals use human rights laws to evade deportation | Law & Regulation | Scoop.it

MORE than 1,000 foreign criminals – including child rapists and murderers – have evaded efforts to kick them out of the UK over the past four years by using human rights laws.

A total of 1,230 overseas offenders who were due to be deported persuaded the courts to let them stay in the UK, Home Office figures published yesterday showed.

Between 2008 and 2012, nearly 8,000 were thrown out but of those who cheated deportation 1,054 claimed the right to a “family life” in Britain.

They include three child rapists, 13 rapists and three murderers.

Last night, Tory MP Priti Patel said: “Dangerous foreign criminals should not be allowed to use human rights excuses to escape deportation. The public expects these criminals to be removed from Britain and the human rights laws that prevent this must be scrapped.”

A Home Office spokesman said: “We will always seek to deport any foreign criminals as quickly as possible and in 2011 we removed over 4,600 foreign national offenders.

“Foreign criminals should not be able to hide behind weak human rights claims to prevent their removal from the UK. This is why we changed the immigration rules to make it harder for them to dodge deportation.”
