#NLG Is Getting Down to Business

#NLG Is Getting Down to Business | Language Tech Market News | Scoop.it

Emmanuel Walckenaer, chief executive of Yseop, an NLG software platform used by Moody’s, Zachs and Societe Général, says the technology can provide financial advisers with a coherently collated written summary of a client’s transaction history that offers recommendations on where they might like to invest next and why or whether they are risk adverse or not.  Typically, these insights will only be one or two paragraphs in length. Creating longer, more in-depth reports is possible, but requires more rules, protocols and system-training, and several weeks to build, which can be a barrier to adoption.

Google's New Algorithm Creates Original Articles From Anyone's Content

Google's New Algorithm Creates Original Articles From Anyone's Content | Language Tech Market News | Scoop.it

AI Generates a Data-driven US Road-trip Novel

AI Generates a Data-driven US Road-trip Novel | Language Tech Market News | Scoop.it

1 the Road reads as if a Google Street View car were narrating a cross-country journey to itself. This approach is compelling because it offers an opportunity to commune, for a few hours, with the vast network of data-collecting vehicles—drones, cars, devices—that now crawl our geography. “Much like the American literary road-trip books that inspired this project, it’s about capturing the time and place, and right now we’re in a time where we’re pretty confused and amazed by AI, so it captures that wonder and confusion,” film-maker Rapkin says. “Is it profound or is it nonsense? It’s both.”

The Value of Artificial Writing: An Interview with @Botnik's Jamie Brew

JB: I expect we’ll continue to see AI. tech that tries to help people do things as fast as they can while making the fewest possible decisions. I think one of Botnik’s roles is to resist that impulse and ask: “What decisions don’t we want to give away? What decisions do humans actually enjoy making?” That’s the challenge of making the hybrid tech we’re trying to make: offering people decisions they want to make.
