Queen Mary of Scotland was beheaded in 1587 after being tried in an English court. Although she belonged to another country, she took refuge in Angland with her cousin Elizabeth. After a long time of hiding out, the English courts felt that they had the right to try her as an Englsih citizen. After her trial they falt that she was guilty, and beheaded Scotland's queen. Her son James, having no live parents, was forced to live with guardians, and later took the throne of Scotland just like his mother.

King James of Scotland was watched by his toutor George Buchanan after the death of his parents. Buchanan influenced King James to dispise his mother and tryied to teach him to accept the limitations of monarchy but was unsuccessful since king James highly disagreed with it.
