Carolyn Skibba @skibtech in Chicago talks about a collaborative ebook project she did with Ingvi Hrannar @Ingvihrannar in Iceland. Both of their classrooms blogged and included multimedia such as Vocaroo and CroakIt and shared photographs using PicCollage and posted them in their blogs in order to get to know one another. Then they made a bilingual book in English and Icelandic using Book Creator and DropBox, sharing their work together. You can see their book in the last part of this 13 minute interview. I loved this project!

Southern California’s Plants & Animals

Southern California’s Plants & Animals | Kids Create iPad Books | Scoop.it
Read a sample or download Southern California’s Plants & Animals by John Tiersma & Valley Christian Middle School (Nature Class) with iBooks.
Gail LeGrand's insight:

What a lovely book. So many nice features, but I especially liked the 3d starfish and reading about what happens if a starfish is cut down the middle. The 3d rabbit was pretty awesome. I loved listening to the coyote howling too.  The corn snake was fun to watch. Actually, the entire book is nicely done.
