TIOBE Software: The Coding Standards Company Javascript +2 rank !!!

JavaScript is now at position 8 in the TIOBE index. Since websites depend more and more on JavaScript, it is expected that JavaScript's popularity will rise further in the near future. Another interesting observation is that while big software-related companies such as Oracle, Microsoft and Apple all have one of their programming languages in the top 10, Google seems to be incapable to achieve the same. Google's Go language dropped out of the top 50 this month, while the other major Google language Dart is also not successful yet. It is at position 78.

glesperance/node-rocket - GitHub | js-it | Scoop.it

RocketJS.net a.k.a. node-Rocket is a project created by Gabriel Lespérance during the “Startupfier Summer Kick-off: Hackathon” in order to allow rapid development of real-time web applications using node.js.

Highly inspired by Ruby on Rails and cakePHP, Rocket puts forward the convention over configuration principle in order to simplify and speedup the software development process and allow easier scalability by leveraging node.js asynchronous behavior as well as its javascript nature.

Central to RocketJS is the principle of having a single point of contact between the programmer and the underlying application and resources. Hence, RocketJS aims to blur and reduce as much as possible the separation between the client (browser) and the server (node.js) while maximizing the scaling potential (for instance by allowing code sharing between the server and the client) and improving the performance of the resulting web application.

Built on top of express -- node.js’ high performance web development framework -- RocketJS provides a robust structure on which to build your web applications without sacrificing any of your freedom.

pgte/banzai - GitHub

pgte/banzai - GitHub | js-it | Scoop.it
banzai hosted on GitHub... Banzai (short for BanzaiETL) is a document processing framework. It operates by defining pipelines. We have a PubSub model where publishers (e.g. our api) place things in a priority queue that then gets consumed by a pipeline worker. A pipeline worker subscribes to the work queue and when it finds a task that needs to be done starts working on it. A pipeline is basically a state machine that allows you to execute multiple operations on a single file. You can use it to enrich documents with stuff from the internet, convert images, replicate a database to another datastore, etc. In our case we use the pipelines to process emails, convert pdf attachments to images, resize images, process information we get from mechanical turk, etc.

nodejs library called Racer synchronises data between browsers, servers, and database

nodejs library called Racer synchronises data between browsers, servers, and database | js-it | Scoop.it

Derby

Derby (GitHub: codeparty / derby, License: MIT, npm: derby), other than being the city closest to where I grew up, is a new web framework for Node by Nate Smith and Brian Noguchi. It features a data synchronisation library called Racer that synchronises data between browsers, servers, and the database. This is one of the few libraries to truly realise the goal of running the same code on clients and servers. This data synchronisation layer is far from simple — it even includes features to help resolve conflicts.

Using Eclipse as Node Applications Debugger - GitHub

Using Eclipse as Node Applications Debugger - GitHub | js-it | Scoop.it

Eclipse debugger plugin for V8 can be easily used to debug node scripts. (On OSX 10.5 the plugin requires an Eclipse 64 bit Version, started with Java SE 6). The V8 engine provides debugging support by enabling attachment of the remote debugger on a TCP port (5858 is node’s default). There are 2 debug related node options.
