Lawyers question whether Ohio suspect can get fair trial

Lawyers question whether Ohio suspect can get fair trial | Jhicks5218 | Scoop.it
Ariel Castro "loves dearly" the child he fathered with alleged kidnapping victim Amanda Berry while she was in captivity, according to his attorney.
Jordan's insight:

I agree that this man will probably not be able to recieve a fair trail passed upon his acts. Under the constitution this man shall recieve a fair and unbiased jury as well as a quick and speedy trail. I don't feel bad for this man at all even if he was to get a fair trail he was to still get punished to the highest extent of the law.

A fair trial might be the right thing to do but the stuff he did is not right. Holding people against their will especially for a decade and having kids with them. The twisted part also is that he is a school bus driver. I would not want him driving school bus especially for my kids.

5-year-old Kentucky boy fatally shoots 2-year-old sister

A Kentucky boy accidentally shot and killed his 2-year-old sister with the .22-caliber rifle he got for his birthday, state officials said.
Jordan's insight:

I am all for guns as I grew up with them and safety growingg up was the most important thing. It's a tradgic situation, but I think that most of the blame for this can be put on the parent for leaving the two children unattended with a loaded weapon. At the age of 5 he has no idea what he is doing and doesn't know the affects of a firearm can have. No blame should be put on the child he is simply mimicking what he has been taught. It's terrible that he shot his sister but the parents let it happen.

Jordan's Insight: This is a short video on how Senator Rubio says "Obama is a bad president". I find this video quite comical because Rubio was considered by Romney as one of his first choices for a VP. Although Rubio is biased on the subject and his statement is protected under the first Amendment I think it is a little inappropriate to be making this public.

If you didn't want the dog you could have gave it to a shelter or sold it or something. Just awful. Great thinking by the engineer to make a quick move to save the puppy's life.

Since sodium pentathol is so unreliable, I would think that whatever he says while drugged would have to be thrown out as untrustworthy. If, however, a reliable truth serum was discovered, I would think that it would be virtually impossible to use in a criminal case due to the fifth amendment. This is effectively forcing him to testify. Although I don't necessarily agree wholeheartedly with the amendment, that is what is says and means, plain as day.

Thank you, SNL, for making light of the "watered down" bipartisan gun legislation working its way through Congress. Although the bill does further provide for greater background checks in some cases, it is quite weak compared to earlier versions. Leaving many to wonder, "why waste the time"?

Jordan's comment, April 17, 2013 7:02 PM
I think this SNL did a great job of describing how the gun legislation won't really change anything except how people are examined to being able to purchase a gun.
dakota dodds's comment, April 21, 2013 2:18 PM
The way that SNL made fun of how that the gun control is becoming a waste of time. So there is no point in wasting time on what is already out of control. We have no control of what people choose to do. While with the scare of the loss of owning a gun, there is no way of getting them back.
