10 Differences Between Real Entrepreneurs and ‘Wantrepreneurs’

10 Differences Between Real Entrepreneurs and ‘Wantrepreneurs’ | Jamie | Scoop.it

It seems like everyone is calling themselves an entrepreneur these days. Everyone is after that next genius idea hoping to make it big, but while everyone wants that success, only a few can earn it. Those who have been successful know what separates the real entrepreneurs from what Mark Cuban coins as “the wantrepreneurs”. Here are the qualities of a real entrepreneur from some of the industry’s best.

1. “Real entrepreneurs make it happen. Wannabes make excuses.”

If an entrepreneur was a super hero, pessimism would be his arch nemesis. A loser makes excuses to not even try, but having the determination to greet failure and push even further is what makes a real entrepreneur.

2. Real entrepreneurs are driven by their passion, wantrepreneurs are driven by what they think their passion should be.

Lost Second Life by Ziki Questi: EDDI & RYCE'S SECOND LIFE: Must-See Art Exhibition: | Jamie | Scoop.it

Ziki Questi, who is an excellent Second Life photographer and blogger has just opened an art exhibition called Lost Second Life.  Ziki has sorted through over 15,000 of her photographs taken since her arrival in early 2011 and has produced a very interesting exhibition on great Second Life builds that are no longer open.  Veteran Second Lifers, and new resident, should head over to see what has been lost, and how these builds have inspired current Second Life architecture.

The UAE has jumped from its 33 postion in 2009 Position to 13 Position in a span of less than 4 years, this momentum of increase would be more faster in the next few years given that major projects would be live in the couple of years. May be in top 5... great new year news..

These 10 Countries Are The Most Prosperous In The World

These 10 Countries Are The Most Prosperous In The World | Jamie | Scoop.it

If you were to look at one measure of a country’s economic health, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) alone leaves out plenty of the factors that make a country a pleasant - or prosperous - place to live.

That’s why, in the depths of a global recession five years ago, the Legatum Institute, a U.K. nonprofit thinktank, made a list of 89 factors to measure a country’s prosperity. Last week, the Institute put out its Prosperity Index rankings for 2013.

5 Productivity Hacks For Your Office Space

5 Productivity Hacks For Your Office Space | Jamie | Scoop.it

Whether you’re in a corner office or a cubical, if you enter your workspace day after day with a tired sigh, you’ve got a problem.  Work may be relatively the same day in and day out, but your attitude is the variable factor.  If you carry the day on with a sagging frown and heavy head, your tasks will seem that much harder and your productivity rates will lag on that much slower.

SolarSinter Project - How to 'print' objects using only sand and sunlight

In a world increasingly concerned with questions of energy production and raw material shortages, this project explores the potential of desert manufacturing, where energy and material occur in abundance.

In this experiment sunlight and sand are used as raw energy and material to produce glass objects using a 3D printing process, that combines natural energy and material with high-tech production technology.

Solar-sintering aims to raise questions about the future of manufacturing and triggers dreams of the full utilisation of the production potential of the world's most efficient energy resource - the sun. Whilst not providing definitive answers, this experiment aims to provide a point of departure for fresh thinking.

There is a new digital divide on the horizon. It is not based around who has devices and who does not, but instead the new digital divide will be based around students who know how to effectively find and curate information and those who do not. Helene Blowers has come up with seven ideas about the new digital divide – four of them, the ones I felt related to searching, are listed
