What’s Next in Computing?

What’s Next in Computing? | Infofix Solutions : Web and Mobile Application | Scoop.it

The computing industry progresses in two mostly independent cycles: financial and product cycles. There has been a lot of handwringing lately about where we are in the financial cycle. Financial markets get a lot of attention. They tend to fluctuate unpredictably and sometimes wildly. The product cycle by comparison gets relatively little attention, even though it is what actually drives the computing industry forward. We can try to understand and predict the product cycle by studying the past and extrapolating into the future.

freelance websites - How do I get my first job at a freelancing site? - Freelancing Stack Exchange | Infofix Solutions : Web and Mobile Application | Scoop.it
I absolutely understand what you mean. A couple of years ago I faced the same dilemma. No matter how low I bid, I could never get a project. But as of today if I bid on a project, 90% of the chances are that I will get it.
I was almost on the verge of giving it up but then someone gave me some advice which helped me get my first project. So how did I manage to do it?

 A. Create a proposal where you explain why you should be picked even though you are new.
It could be some thing like

 Dear XYZ
I have been in this industry for XX years and such jobs are my daily practice. This is my first time on this site and hence you can see that I do not have any ratings/testimonials to show you. I can assure you that if you work with me once, you will always work with me for these kind of projects.
Now you mention stuff here on why the employer should choose you.... Attach a sample and tell the employer that it can be delivered the moment he chooses your bid...

B. Submit samples of your previous work Just don't submit any sample. The sample should be relevant to the current project you are bidding on

 C. Submit working sample of the current work. If you do not want to do that then attach a video of the working application. I use CAMTASIA to record a video to show how the completed project looks like. Trust me this almost will seal the project for you. Start with these 3 and you will see results very soon.

How Much Should You Spend on Paid Ads? Here’s My Data-Driven Formula

How Much Should You Spend on Paid Ads? Here’s My Data-Driven Formula | Infofix Solutions : Web and Mobile Application | Scoop.it
Some of my takeaways?

LinkedIn, for example, provided an excellent return on B2B ads, while Google still reigned supreme for B2C. StumbleUpon’s conversion rate for paid products was woefully low.

The top three paid ad spots on Google’s SERPs, for example, get 41% of the clicks. Even the best SEO techniques will only expose you to 59% of the viewing audience, and Google’s knowledge graph and infoboxes are quickly cutting into that as well.

Marketing professionals across the board agree that pay-per-click advertising works. The hard part is getting set up with a solid PPC plan to serve as your foundation.

We need to know how much to spend, when to spend it, where to spend it, and how to spend it correctly.

Those are tough calls to make, especially if you’re a paid advertising newbie. The paid platforms can be complicated and confusing. What do you do with all these options, data, and metrics?

Domino's pizza delivery robot is coming to your door

Domino's pizza delivery robot is coming to your door | Infofix Solutions : Web and Mobile Application | Scoop.it
Meet the robot that delivers pizza Ding dong, there's a robot at your door and it's got your extra large pizza. This could be a future Saturday night scenario if Domino's Australia gets its way. Domino's Australia is independent from the U.S. based pizza chain, but pays a royalty to use the name, logo and recipes. The company has developed a self-driving robot that can deliver hot food and cold drinks. The four-wheeled machine dubbed DRU -- for Domino's Robotic Unit -- completed its first trial delivery earlier this month. On Thursday, company executives unveiled the robot on stage at a special event in Brisbane. "We improvised, we explored, and we discovered that this audacious idea could actually become a reality," the company said in a promo video. The robot uses GPS for navigation and can sense and avoid obstacles as it travels. It is designed to travel on bike paths or footpaths and can reach speeds of 12 mph. It's not clear how far the robot will travel to deliver a pizza. A hidden locked compartment pops up to reveal hot and cold chambers that hold a customer's order. The customer can get at the pizza by using a security code sent to the customer's phone. The base of the machine was developed by Marathon Targets, a robotics startup that makes equipment for live fire training. "We are proud to also be part of this world-first innovation in pizza-delivery technology," Marathon said in a statement. Marathon and Domino's Australia are calling DRU "the world's first autonomous pizza delivery vehicle," but it's just a prototype for now. Don't expect to see any robots delivering your food just yet. Related: Technology could kill 5 million jobs by 2020 The Domino's brand is famous for dabbling in new technology fads for public relations and practical purposes. Three years ago, Domino's U.K. showed off a concept drone that delivers pizza. In the fall of last year, the U.S.-based company said it would launch 100 custom delivery cars. And in May of 2015, Domino's started letting people order pizza using emojis on Twitter. CNNMoney (New York) First published March 18, 2016: 4:46 PM ET

Where will Social Media Users go in 2017?

Where will Social Media Users go in 2017? | Infofix Solutions : Web and Mobile Application | Scoop.it

As social media networks continue to evolve at a breakneck speed, so does the demographic of users on the respective platforms. We looked at the data and pulled together current 2016 trends with early predictions about where social media users will go in 2017.

Key points

- Facebook isn’t dead, yet. Millennials are still on Facebook, they’re just using the platform in a different way than their older counterparts. Rather than sharing personal stories and updates, they’re sharing third-party content.

- Instagram ads bring big brand awareness. 97% of branded Instagram campaigns have generated a significant increase in ad recall. This is expected to grow even more as Instagram ad targeting becomes even more advanced.

- Video will dominate. Video content will be responsible for 85% of search traffic in the US by 2019. There is already a massive rise in video content, especially on Facebook.

- Snapchat might revolutionize ads. Leaked documents from the company show Snapchat is looking to capitalize on their large, young demographic. This includes image recognition technology to introduce a new round of advertisements that encourage users to share a brand’s message through user-generated content....
