ABSTRACT The controversial No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) brought test-based school...
Keith Mack's insight:

Brian A. Jacobs states that " Results indicate that NCLB brought about targeted gains in mathematics achievements of younger students, particulary those from disadvantage backgrounds"(page 1.)

This article based book really covers how much impact the No Child Left Behind acts has on the children, teachers, and schools. As i read further into it i also saw that they to envolved parents into the equation saying how important it is that the parents become envolved in their child education. It goes on to say that the children are feeling the positive and negative shockwaves of the act. the children are not getting the proper education because the school has to meet a certain standard as they basically let the children skate through school to crash into the walls of reality, The Children cant even pass the Military exams because of poor education and that is completely unacceptable.

County high school dropout rate in deep decline
Richmond County Daily Journal
The state reported a 2.45 percent dropout rate. This is an 18.6 percent decrease from the previous year's rate at 3.01 percent.
Keith Mack's insight:

In North Carolina, in the Richmond County, the graduation rate increased tremendously as the dropout rate decreased. They give the praise to educators of this county but i give the praise to the act which enforces the educators should give their children one on one help so they can understand more fluent. Students in this county drop out rate was 20.035 in 2003-2004, which was before the act and its down to 11.049 in 2012-13 which is a serious cut in the margins. It is an example that the act works and helps to increase the graduation rate

Scholarly Article

Keith Mack's insight:

To give you a Different insight on my subject i pull this Scholarly  article from the Vanderbilt "

U.S. Department of Education's Institute of
Education Sciences". they basically map out the different types of roles that the NCLB act can cover. they start with the very first act that was established to help children all the way down to the present act from 2007. the artical covers all the edges even about the parents role in this. They go in to say that the parents have so much of a role to this act as the teachers to because it starts at home and the parents can really help out by helping and bettering their children for school.

This article from my school Database named "ebscohos" also smashes the NCLB act by saying "Critics decried No Child Left Behind's lofty goal as unrealistic and unattainable." (5 paragraph) They do not think that the act helps in any way and if anything hurts the chances of the United States children graduation increase.
