iPoster™ is a Smart Poster branded product and service of CityLife MOBILE. A smart poster is any printed poster, decal, wall or floor cling used in a retail ecosystem in order to engage a customer and get them to opt in to an SMS or email list campaign. After opt-in, pursuant to customer permission, the retail brand can continue to SMS or email new offers to them and encourage a return visit to the store.

 

An iPoster™ is different than ordinary poster or decal you might find in a retail setting or commercial setting. An iPoster™ is uniquely designed to to use embedded digital technologies to link a viewer from an offline location in a store or other location to an online mobile site which provides an experience they want to share with that viewer. The unique mobile site provides information of a real value to the viewer. It's personalized for them.

FloJack evens the playing field because it is device agnostic and works similar to Square by being able to be plugged in to the 3.5 mm jack on most phones. Flomio is a platform for building NFC and RFID-enabled apps, it’s hardware agnostic and entirely cloud-based. This means Flomio can work with any NFC-enabled devices and masks all the complexity of NFC, exposing the service as a simple web API.

 

If you were one of those left disappointed when it was revealed the iPhone 5 wouldn't be NFC-enabled, this Kickstarter project courtesy of Flomio could interest you.

Walmart is focused on servicing mobile tools to customers in-store such as building shopping lists or checking out faster. In this way, mobile becomes a customer service tool for in-store shoppers.In order to mobilize stores though, there are a lot of moving parts and teams that have to come together such as marketing, store operations and online.

 

Earlier this year, Walmart launched a function within its app that changes the user experience once a consumer walks into a store. The app brings up features such as bar code scanners and the local weekly ad. Walmart’s consumers want to get in and out of a store quickly while also finding products for the lowest price possible.

 

In the future, Ms. Bergh said that the company will continue to focus on the in-store experience as well as working on payment options.

 

Additionally, the brand wants to create multichannel shoppers because as consumers engage with Walmart more, loyalty from those users will increase.

 

Mobile brings the Web to the stores, which can make for a more personalized and relevant experience, per Ms. Bergh.
