First Two Weeks With iPads - ThinkWrite

First Two Weeks With iPads - ThinkWrite | iPads! Oh, my!! Resources for 1:1 Survival | Scoop.it
The first day that the students receive their iPads is very exciting. While distributing iPads to students it is good practice to let them have about 20 minutes of exploration time to check out apps and share with each other things they discover. A lot of the learning that happens in the classroom is based on sharing amongst the students. This exploration time should happen daily for the first few days so students can have time to acclimate to using the device.

Dear “Nervous To Try Something New With EdTech”: You know when you spoke with me the other day and told me that that introducing more tech into my class was fine for me because I was ‘into it’ and ‘understood’ it? That you were not going to try a new way of doing things (edtech-wise) …

5 back to school iPad activities - Erintegration

5 back to school iPad activities - Erintegration | iPads! Oh, my!! Resources for 1:1 Survival | Scoop.it
If you are like me, you like to spend time building your classroom community.   Now that we have a class set of iPads to use, I have turned to technology for many icebreaker back to school Ipad activities that I used to do on pen and paper.

One reason is that it is fun and something a little different for my 3rd graders.  Also it sets the tone of collaboration that will be a huge component of our classroom.  Another bonus reason to use iPads the first week of school – you are teaching your technology expectations and familiarizing your students with the iPad basics – savings, sharing, uploading, taking pictures, screenshots, etc. right away!

Great little trick. You can also use a service such as Pocket or Diigo to tag and save the page for later reading.
