The next wave in storytelling is short-form video | Internet Presence | Scoop.it
a look at why your brand should invest time in social video and how to use it to dominate your storytelling efforts..

Social video apps are nothing new. However, these video tools have been slow to gain widespread enthusiasm from brands as a serious content distribution channel — until now.

Meerkat and Periscope put instant video into the hands of the masses, but now we’re finally seeing the rest of the major social networks catch on and make it not only easier to create video content, but also painless to share.

Even traditional social networks are now encouraging brands to mix their storytelling efforts with more social video features. These social apps are making it dead simple to master the art of video storytelling quickly and win the attention of consumers with minimal effort.

So creating video content is easy. But how can you get audiences to actually pay attention? The following apps are stepping up their game and enabling brands to share more creative, authentic, instant video than ever. Here’s a look at why your brand should invest time in social video and how to use it to dominate your storytelling efforts. Read more: click image or title.

How to launch a startup without knowing a line of code

How to launch a startup without knowing a line of code | Internet Presence | Scoop.it

There is an unspoken rule: to launch a startup, you need to build a product, and to do that you need someone that can write code.

Whether that means chasing down a technical co-founder, learning to code, or even building that “Lean MVP” – the conventional wisdom is that without tech abilities you’re nothing more than a dude (or dudette) with a Powerpoint.

A growing number of startups, however, are quietly disproving this assumption.

They’re getting their first customers with minimal technology, and often no code at all. Instead of building fancy technology from the outset, they’re hacking together inexpensive online tools such as online forms, drag-and-drop site builders, advanced WordPress plugins, and eCommerce providers.

They’re jumping right in to serve customers in any way possible – heading right for their first paying customers.

Most importantly, unlike the majority of their peers, by the time they start building a product, they already have a humming business.

How are they doing it?

Marc Kneepkens's insight:

It's become fashionable to create Startups and use Developers. But anyone can start a business online, there are too many good tools around, and not only WordPress as the article suggests.

I built my site with SBI/Sitesell, and am very happy to see hundreds of visitors every day checking on funding information. SBI has many, many tools, all integrated in one package at $29.90/month or $299.00/year, less than a dollar a day. Take a look:http://www.sitesell.com/welcome23.html

Knowing how to get your project coded is as important as knowing how to code!

Mobile Banking Apps: Are We Really Safe?

Mobile Banking Apps: Are We Really Safe? | Internet Presence | Scoop.it
I am in love with smartphone applications or just simply "apps" as most--if not all--of us refer it to. With the development these apps had for the past couple of years, it's safe to say that they simply make our everyday lives easier.

There’s even this one radio ad that i heard before claiming that these days, “there’s always an app for everything”.

Well, thinking about it, i think it is true.  A lot of companies from all parts of the world of all sorts these days have created mobile apps crafted for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry users designed for them to reach their customers easier in different ways. One example are Banks. Banks from all over the world created smartphone apps to let their customers check their balance or perform whatever banking transaction they need to just like paying bills, as long as these actions are available with the web version of their Bank’s eBanking services.

Yes, it is very convenient. But, the question is: Are we really that willing to entrust the safety of our hard earned money into these mobile applications our banks are offering when we hardly know how safe it was developed...
