This shows how Virtual Reality can be used not just as a tool to put you in a 'true' first person perspective, but how it can be used in new and interesting ways. The article theorizes that if people with histories of domestic abuse, could be put in the body of their partner or anyone of the opposite sex, it could have a profound effect on them, and alter their perception through true apathy.

Drivatar™ technology is at the heart of all the computer opponents in Forza Motorsport, and is the basis for the novel "Train Drivatar" feature in the game.
Hayden Turner's insight:

Drivatar, is another example of a unique way to utilize the cloud. Forza 5, is a racing simulation game. Forza records how you race (how you take corners, how aggressive/passive you are, how you overtake, etc) and stores it in the cloud. It then uses this information to create an online avatar, or 'Drivatar' that races like you would. It then uses your Drivatar to race against friends and other players from around the world in their single-player games, even when you aren't playing. This gives players an increase sense of connectivity, and investment in their game, its more personal when you friend overtakes you (even if it is only a digital representation of them).

While an older article, this still holds true as digital retailers are becoming more and more influential and PC digital sales are far beyond that of their physical counter-parts. Steam leads this charge with annalists stating that they generate easily more than a billion dollars in revenue.
