How Adobe Reinvented The Pen To Draw On The Internet

How Adobe Reinvented The Pen To Draw On The Internet | Insights | Scoop.it
This week, Adobe announced that the Creative Suite was becoming the subscription-based Creative Cloud. It didn’t go so well. But amidst the bad news, we may have lost sight of Adobe’s rationale for pushing the cloud beyond profits.

Why Humor Makes You More Creative

Why Humor Makes You More Creative | Insights | Scoop.it
You can't selfmonitor your way to innovation. A jovial office environment is hugely important and a few good laughs can change everything at work.

Creatives have mastered the art of turning off the self-judging part of their brains in order to brainstorm with less inhibition. (Of course, that's what the agency bar is for, too.)

Alberta family claims clinic denied them care because of legal matter involving relative

Alberta family claims clinic denied them care because of legal matter involving relative | Insights | Scoop.it
Parents of a southern Alberta baby who became severely ill earlier this month say they were denied care at a clinic because of a legal charge facing a relative — a move they allege nearly cost their seven-month-old her life.

To add fuel to the fire, the family who is the target of charge, adamantly declare their innocence and frankly, I support them. The Stephans' story is tragic: http://www.calgaryherald.com/entertainment/Police+charge+parents+death+Raymond+toddler/7962311/story.html Regardless, these are separate individuals and one child's fate must not hinge upon that of another! What happened to honor of the Hippocratic Oath; ethics and professionalism??

Beyond the gravity of near tragedy within Dan's family and outright catastrophic conditions which resulted in his sibling, David's situation (see: http://www.calgaryherald.com/entertainment/Police+charge+parents+death+Raymond+toddler/7962311/story.html ) , it is both disheartening to see both families being subjected to the added stress of public critique! Unless directly impacted by circumstances, some individuals tend to doubt the truth of what they do not fully comprehend. Sadly, some go a step further in demonstrating ignorance through inability to allow themselves to become better educated on matters; instead make unkind remarks towards persons already victimized. It is deeply disturbing to witness such controversy amongst members of the public who could better serve their community by becoming proactive in protecting vulnerable persons and supportive of families instead of ostracizing those already facing tremendously difficult situations. It is as if the gravity of loss of a child's life and the impact such absence creates on surviving family members hasn't even crossed the minds of some commentators. As a parent who does know the loss of life of one's child, I can relay how deeply affected and vulnerable death leaves us. Now, imagine how much more compounded grief must be where one is made to feel responsible for the death of your very own child... I cannot even fathom how difficult this nightmarish situation must be for those involved. My heart breaks for the entire Stephan family!

Regardless, what must remain core consideration is the fact that these are separate individuals and one child's fate must not be allowed to hinge upon that of another! What happened to honor of the Hippocratic Oath; ethics and professionalism??

My deepest condolences to all the Stephan's: parents, aunts & uncles, cousins... God Bless and may truth truly be reflected through justice.

Sincerely,

Velvet Martin, http://www.protectingcanadianchildren.ca/

This is the tenth interview in an excellent series on "prominent figures from the world of transmedia."  The series starts with Should Filmmakers Learn to Code over at Filmmaker Magazine and includes interviews with:  Zeega (James Burns, Kara Oehler and Jesse Shapins); Elaine McMillion; Hugues Sweeney; Kamal Sinclair; Mark Harris; Brett Gaylor; Ingrid Kopp; Vivek Bald; Lance Weiler; Katerina Cizek; Fox Harrell; and Caspar Sonnen.

Two Pens's curator insight, May 13, 2013 3:34 PM

Transmedia is a weird term. It's also a new world that incorporates elements of traditional film-making, digital assets, photography, architectural drawings, you name it: all in service to story. It's fun but it

takes a whip to control all those elements into something that translates into more than the sum of its parts.
