Will be interesting to see if this leads to a whole different approach to security as it has for IoT or will autonomous vehicles be considered a subset of IoT. Don't really see that as feasible as they may require the type of security approach along the lines of critical infrastructure protection given that it can have an effect on lives.

Encryption is not the end game. Law enforcement have many other channels from which to collect the intelligence they require. It's the intelligence gathering processes and methodologies that will have to change to adapt successfully to this development.
