Gives a good idea of what can be achieved using a collaborative model in an environment with some similiarities to our own. I was also interested in Cornell's idea of students concentrating on one subject/course at a time. Sounds ideas :) Kristie

Do we try to change our users (e.g. by teaching them how to use library databases) or do we make our systems easier to use? Seems to be a lot going on about "usability" recently... Renee

I agree about Discovery tools being a partner for IL. It certainly makes finding articles in particular quicker and easier for students to a certain extent. Kristie

I love this site, but I'm just using it as a test to create our master tag list - do not delete |

Some thought provoking ideas here! I share the writer's frustration regarding academic emphasis on the adherance to citation style over understanding the value for supporting assertions with well chosen evidence. However, I don't think the two have to be exclusive. By meeting our College's need for referencing education, we can also include discussion on why it's important use evidence. That's certainly what I try to do in my classes and during individual sessions, and I'm sure everyone else does too. Kristie

This instructional database has some great materials we can use/get inspiration for our own information literacy programs. I thought this would be particularly useful for Maureen to get ideas for the LMS IL course. Kristie
