People over the age of 65, pregnant or living with chronic long term conditions are much more vulnerable to the effects of Flu and are more likely to develop more serious symptoms. Flu is caused by a virus and so antibiotics cannot be used to treat it. However the Flu jab can help to prevent you catching the flu. If a loved one has had a stroke a time may come where you have to make the difficult decision of looking for more formal residential care. The Headway Brain Injury Association has developed an accreditation scheme appropriate for NHS and independent care settings. The units they list have all been assessed against these set standards. You can use their search function to help locate approved facilities close to where you currently live.
