Good summary of how Relvancy is the new strategy, moving "tactical SEO" slightly offstage....In his post Eric nails...I cut to the chase in his summary where he states that "The focus now is on understanding your target users, producing great content, establishing your authority and visibility, and providing a great experience for the users of your site." This is the music to the ears of Inbound Marketers!


He goes on to say that " Properly architecting your site so that the search engines can understand it, including using schema and related markup" are imperative! 


So while I began with the Summary, give it a read, especially look at point 4 on Google+ and the prominence it seems to be getting!

This is a handy piece of research to digest. Most of the buzz on Content Marketing has been on the B2B side. Yet the majority of businesses are Business to Consumer. I'll be digging into this more, but on my first pass Email Marketing is number one. Great start, but to be truly effective it should be part of a well thought out strategy. If the numbers are accurate 6 out of 10 of your competitors are doing some part of Content Marketing. Integration and the ability to stay on top of this will be crucial. When you have the time and talent, you can do this your self. If you have the budget but either not the time or talent you can source this out.

I'm, going to add create and enhance Thought Authority/Leadership  and then suggest that your focus shifts more toward points 3 & 4--Customer Education and Engagement. If you let those be the Engine and tender of your train,  then Awareness of your Brand and Loyalty will you down the tracks!

Highlights of a nifty report by the Epsilon Group on 2nd Quarter Email results, which point out the need for Segemented, Targeted Mail with clear calls to action. Otherwise your mail is going to sit or get tossed. Scattergun Email blasts as we knew them are becoming less effective, with the trend towards more relevant content for specific "S.T.O.R.M"  (Specific Targeted Offers of Relevant Material--just made it up, but I kinda like it : ) to limted audiences is proving more effective.
