"When you have almost 7,000 rings already, what's one more?

Deemed as the "world's most pierced woman," Elaine Davidson married Douglas Watson, a conservatively-dressed, piercing-free civil servant, at a low-key wedding ceremony in Scotland, the Telegraph is reporting. The Brazilian-born Davidson, 46, opted for a flowing white dress and floral tiara, but offset the traditional look by painting her face -- already studded with 192 piercings -- green, blue and yellow."

"A CONTORTIONIST has been arrested after he hid inside a suitcase and stole from tourists' luggage while on a bus trip.
Police found the flexible 1.78m thief curled up in the suitcase when investigating why items were regularly stolen on the bus route between Girona Airport and Barcelona, Spain.

Tourists reported valuables such as laptops were going missing from the baggage compartment of the bus during the hour-long trip, the Daily Mail reports.

Holidaymakers only realised items were missing when they arrived at their hotels and opened their bags.

Police said the contortionist was loaded onto the bus by an accomplice."

Scientists Find 'Werewolf' Gene

Scientists Find 'Werewolf' Gene | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
"Scientists have discovered a genetic mutation responsible for a disorder that causes people to sprout thick hair on their faces and bodies.

Hypertrichosis, sometimes called "werewolf syndrome" is a very rare condition, with fewer than 100 cases documented worldwide. But researchers knew the disorder runs in families, and in 1995 they traced the approximate location of the mutation to a section of the X chromosome (one of the two sex chromosomes) in a Mexican family affected by hypertrichosis."

Gloucestershire Cheese Rollers Race Downhill, Despite Ban (PHOTOS) | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
"The cheese stands alone -- until a group of daredevils hurl themselves down a muddy hill in hopes of catching it.

About a dozen of risk takers gathered in Gloucestershire, England, on Sunday to try their luck at the traditional, yet surprisingly controversial, English sport of cheese rolling.

The historic game is a local custom that brings fearless competitors to the top of the shockingly steep Cooper's Hill to chase, or in many cases tumble, after rolling wheels of double Gloucester cheese.

Since it was first documented in 1826, the annual tradition has transformed into an international event with growing crowds, growing numbers of injuries and growing insurance premiums."

Pa. 8th Graders' Field Trip Includes Hooters Lunch | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
I once had a boyfriend whose grandfather bought him a subscription to Playboy for his tenth birthday. I guess some people believe exposing kids to sexuality early is good! Who knows...

"For one group of central Pennsylvania eighth-graders, a recent field trip to Baltimore included lunch at Hooters – a restaurant better known for its busty waitresses than its food.

The Berwick Middle School students were visiting the National Aquarium last week. Chaperones took them to various restaurants for lunch because the group of 100 was too large for a single place."

Conceptual Artist Cherry Tree Makes Perfume From Her Urine | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
Somehow, I don't think I'll be buying this perfume...

"Conceptual artist Cherry Tree has a scent of mystery about her. And the smell of urine. Her urine. And it's intentional.

For the last five years, Tree, who splits time between Missouri and Spain, has been turning her own urine into perfume.

"I am very much into recycling," Tree, born Charity Blansit, told AOL Weird News. "And urine is something I've thought needs to be recycled, since it's something that gets eliminated."

It's a whiz of an idea and one that Tree was inspired to turn into a reality in 2006."

Man's new mobile phone is the one that was stolen from him

Man's new mobile phone is the one that was stolen from him | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
Tip to thieves: don't re-sell your stolen good online. You never know who might be on the buying end.

"A man who bought a shiny new mobile phone online, choosing it because it looked just like his old one, realised afterwards it was actually the very one that had been stolen from him.
The California resident was browsing for a new model on classifieds site Craigslist when he happened upon the strangely familiar handset, according to the sheriff's office.

When his purchase arrived, he saw that his numbers were still stored so he tipped off officials.
They promptly arrested 28-year-old Neil Hefner and recovered 163 stolen phones, along with computers, wallets, gift cards and rare coins, concluding he must have broken into dozens of vehicles to accumulate his small mountain of loot.

What Hefner failed to do, however, was leave his return address off the package containing the stolen phone he was inadvertently attempting to sell back to its owner."

German Hotel Holds Prison Parties In Former Nazi Work Camps

German Hotel Holds Prison Parties In Former Nazi Work Camps | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
"A German hotel is causing a furor by hosting jail-themed parties in cellars where the Nazis once imprisoned forced laborers.

The four-star Hotel Stadt Hameln, in the centre of the northern German city of Hamelin, has had a jail on its site since 1820, but the town really got its money's worth during World War II when the Nazi regime used the jail to imprison forced laborers.

Now the hotel is hoping to lock up a certain demographic with a "Prussian prison party package."

For $62, guests get a prison-striped T-shirt and the privilige of being ordered about by staff members in authentic prison officer uniforms. Upon entry, they are asked to drink a special "oral vaccine," and the guests of honor get locked up in special cells or even in the stocks, according to TheLocal.de."

Man Accused Of Attacking Florida Woman With Pool Noodle Over Watermelon Dispute

Man Accused Of Attacking Florida Woman With Pool Noodle Over Watermelon Dispute | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
What's a swim noodle?

"No matter how old you are, there's no horseplay allowed at the beach.

Police arrested a Florida man at Lowdermilk Park on Thursday after he allegedly harassed a woman with a pool noodle before punching her in the face, the Naples Daily News reports.

East Naples resident Karl Ludwig Eichner, 68, is accused of attacking the woman after she allegedly threw his watermelon into the ocean.

According to the police report, the women noticed a watermelon that was carved into the shape of a head resting in the sand. The seemingly abandoned melon was attracting insects, so the woman picked it up and, thinking the melon would eventually disintegrate, disposed of it in the ocean.

Eichner, however, retrieved the watermelon and returned it to the beach, only to have the woman once again dispose of it in the ocean.

And that's when Eichner stopped using his noodle, according to investigators.

"Eichner approached the woman with his swim noodle full of water and dumped the water on her as she was sitting on her towel," according to the police report. "He then punched her in the cheek."

Woman Gets Facebook Friend Sleeve Tattoo [VIDEO]

Woman Gets Facebook Friend Sleeve Tattoo [VIDEO] | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
"Friends are a many splendored thing — and it’s natural to carry them in one’s heart throughout one’s ever-storied life. It seems a little extreme, however, to tattoo them on one’s arm.

Apparently, this woman (from what we can tell from the video), saw fit to tattoo her 152 Facebook friends on her arm. Granted, this could all be some kind of publicity stunt — remember that guy who got Ray-Bans tattooed on his face? Then again, T-Pain got a Facebook “Like” button on his arm, and who are we to question trends set by T? (Except auto-tune. That was just bad.)

Say what you will about the prudence of this tat-enthusiast’s decision, at least she adhered to Dunbar’s Number."

Ernestine Shepherd, World's Oldest Female Bodybuilder, Muscles Her Way Into Guinness World Records (VIDEO) | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it

The Amazing Kreskin On UFOs, Doomsday And His Own Mysterious Future (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

The Amazing Kreskin On UFOs, Doomsday And His Own Mysterious Future (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO) | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
"Just a few days before the world was supposed to end, that psychic fireball of energy otherwise known as "The Amazing Kreskin" buzzed through AOL headquarters, and when we replayed the interview hours later, we were flabbergasted when the 76-year-old mentalist said he had signed his "final contract."

Really? Did Kreskin know something that we didn't know? He usually does.

On the day of the interview, everyone was talking about radio evangelist Harold Camping, who predicted Doomsday would come on May 21.

AOL Weird News didn't take Camping's claims too seriously. But when Kreskin told us that his next TV deal would be his last we started to wonder. Maybe Judgment Day was coming after all -- and we'd all get to meet Elvis."

Nazis tried to train dogs to talk and tap out signals as part of war effort - The Daily Record | In Today's News of the Weird | Scoop.it
"The Nazis tried to train dogs to talk, read and spell to help them win World War II, it was claimed yesterday.

New research suggests Hitler - who had German shepherds called Blondi and Bella - hoped dogs would communicate with their SS masters and had a school set up to teach them to talk.
One mutt was said to have uttered "Mein Fuhrer" when asked who Hitler was.
Another "spoke" by tapping letters of the alphabet with his paws and was said to have learned poetry.

Dr Jan Bondeson, of Cardiff University, said: "The Nazis seemed to think nothing of human rights, but lots about animal rights."
