6 Social Media Competitive Analysis Tools That Bring Serious Business

6 Social Media Competitive Analysis Tools That Bring Serious Business | In the News of Social Media & Entertainment | Scoop.it
Dear friends, the 7th part of 'Social Media Success' series will show on how to research on your competitors social media profiles through use of some awesome tools. Performing a social media competitive analysis allows you to get an in-depth look at what your competitors are doing to be successful. The best part is it's much easier getting the data than you think. Here's how to do a social media competitive analysis with these easy-to-use tools: YouTube Competitor Analysis Success on YouTube isn't always about tracking just your metrics – it's about gaining valuable insights into your competitors too. Here is a competitive analysis tool that will help brands on YouTube improve their business intelligence – vidiq. You'll be able to track your competitors' growth on YouTube and see how you stack up against your competition, including views and subscribers by time-frame. It also reveals the metrics that matter from engagement across Facebook and Twitter, brand mentions, the best time to upload to YouTube, to how you show up in search, etc. Content Marketing Research Buzzsumo enables you to analyze the best performing content by topic or competitor based on the number of social shares via Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+. Using this competitor analysis tool, you can evaluate the performance of your competitors' content and keywords. You can even check out how many mentions your competitors' brands have gotten. Starting with a view of your competitors' most successful content facilitates your own content-creation process. Monitoring RSS Feeds A simple way to keep up to date with your competition is to monitor their RSS feeds. Feedly is a great application, which is absolutely free and allows you to subscribe to your competitors' RSS feeds. It monitors news about your company, your product, your craft, and your competitors by plugging in Google Alerts. Using Feedly, you'll be notified when your competition posts any new content. In addition, you can search by topic in the news feed as well. Besides, it gives secure access to private content from your company's internal portals, content management systems, and SaaS applications. Keep a Tab on Twitter Followerwonk is great for learning more (e.g. demographics) about your competitors' Twitter followers and the people they follow. You can even see the time when your competitors are the most active on Twitter. It's also possible to compare Twitter profiles for additional insights. You can even compare your own profile to see how you stack up to the competition. Overall, Followerwonk provides you a comprehensive insight into your competitors' presence on Twitter – and best of all, most features are free. Use Facebook to Spy on Your Competition By using Facebook's own Graph API, you can view the basic data setup of any Facebook entity. For instance, you're in the process of setting up your company page and you're not sure what category you should place it in or what information you should fill out. By finding your competitor's fan page and appending their username or company page ID number to the URL, you can see all their basic details in one shot without even liking their page. You can see even more applications of this on the Graph API page. You can use it to grab basic information about events, groups, applications, status messages, photo albums, and much more. Basically, anything that isn't private can be discovered. Analyze Competitor Snapchat Content Snaplytics fixes Snapchat metrics analysis problem. This analytics tool offers amazing insights about your competition. It gives you a 14-day free trial along with a demo. Once you've logged in, Snaplytics has an entire section of analytics for competitor research. Click Competitors in the left column, and in the pop-up window, enter the Snapchat username you want to analyze. On the main competitor research dashboard, you can see a list of the competitors you're tracking and information such as: How many stories they have and how many stories per week on average they share The total duration of content from the account The ratio of video vs. images Even though Snapchat deletes content after 24 hours, basic Snaplytics plans store your competitors' public activity and content for up to three months. Improving your success online is all about continuous development and learning. Use the tools for competitor analysis above to stay ahead of the learning curve and on top of your competition. Marketing a small business doesn't have to be expensive and time consuming. This November, let us show you how at India's largest e-commerce & Retail conference – eTailing India Delhi 2017!
