Chenghao Shen's insight:

As we know everyone has his/her own emotional responses, when we are doing some shopping in the supermarket and see some products which we want to buy, for example, we want to buy some milk, we have brands like Anchor and Meadow Fresh available, but which one are we going to buy finally? We will consider many factors such as price, quality, packaging, popularity etc. Some characteristics like packaging and colours will usually give consumers a direct impression for making a decision which one to buy. That is the phenomenon of emotional response, sometimes we even want to buy something without any reasons, just like and want to own it as we see it in first sight. So emotional responses of consumers are actually very important for a business to retain the consumers, once consumers have a very reliability upon the products, consumer loyalty has been invisibly built. In the article, the author has provided some diagrams to convince the readers the importance of having an appropriate management of consumer emotional responses. As the author has quoted that many people may forget what you said and did, but it is hard for them to forget how you made them feel. It is always easier for human beings ro remember short and simple messages instead of long and complicated ones. So actually good business operators should try to convey what they want to express as short and simple as possible. That is the force of emotional responses in the business which enables the companies to grasp the consumers’ hearts to provide better products and service for them.

Hi Allen, it’s really unforgettable article. After I read this article I’m agree that social media influence consumer emotional response. For example, McDonald’s it is a very famous fast-food brand. Most of people know this is unhealthy food however only a few people could reject it. As to why, we can see McDonald’s has very fully social media activities. Such as TV advertising, mobile message, facebook link and magazine, especially in the bus wall. We can see the logo anywhere. However this is only a kind of way could influence consumer emotional. The key point is totally brand feedback. A good brand don’t need to a lots of advertising. They only need to make their brand perfect and attract customer. Such as LV, Gucci, Prada on so on. Thus this article, teach all marketers improve their emotional and don’t loss any customer.
