Brittany Paige's curator insight, October 8, 2015 9:20 PM

I feel like this article is a pretty good one for using in this assignment, mainly because it does talk in detail about the problem that the industry is facing with this issue. It is clearly written and it hits the main point of the problem. The only downside is that I feel its somewhat biased like the author is leaning more towards on solution rather than any others.

Illegal music downloads hold strong cases while discussing ethics. How ethical is it to illegally download an audio track? Is there any case/situation where different stipulations would hold up?

As an artist, they have a goal at hand and that is to profit from their music. Pirating music makes it nearly impossible for an artist to see any proceeds from their own tracks.

Like we discussed throughout our course, there are loopholes in every aspect of the virtual/digital media world. Ethical decision-making ultimately comes from the beliefs and values of the person making the decision.
