iBooks Author is iPhone ready

iBooks Author is iPhone ready | iBooks Authoring | Scoop.it

We have great news for all of us creating eBooks using iBooks Author because the rumor was true, we will be able to enjoy our interactive eBooks also on iPhone and iPod Touch with the update to iOS 8.4. We´ve heard some rumours about this since las year (2014), but during this month (June) these rumours grew more and more. Today I downloaded iOS 8.4 beta to test this theory and they totally work, they work a little bit different than with using the iPad but I was surprised how Apple pulled it off. These are a few thing I found using an iPhone 5S

Nice workflow  - then import as widget into iBooks Author

Nick Urban's curator insight, July 17, 2015 3:59 PM

Using technology to do old-fashioned mapping assignments is an amazing addition to the social studies classroom. This tutorial will allow teachers to become knowledgable in the latest apps and how to fashion a mapping assignment using Keynote or Gimp. It also allows the user to create an interactive map that encourages collaboration and sharing on several unique topics. The addition of animation and layovers also enhances the learning experience so students can see movement over time.

2-Page Spreads in iBooks Author - iTeach with iPads

2-Page Spreads in iBooks Author - iTeach with iPads | iBooks Authoring | Scoop.it
Recently, I was presenting on iBooks Author from the Early Childhood perspective along with 2 other Apple Distinguished Educators presenting from the middle school perspective.  I was so excited about their work and was inspired to try my hand at creating a 2-page spread activity in iBooks Author.

The idea behind the 2-page spread is that you don’t have to create an entire book…you can create an interactive experience across 2 pages.  My ADE friend, Sean Junkins has created a short, step-by-step guide for this process.  You can download his book here.

Once in iBooks Author your book is converted to Apple’s .ibooks format. This means you can use all the great formatting tools with iBooks Author, but as your book is no longer an ePub file you won’t be able to use it in Book Creator or read on non-Apple devices.
