The Mayor says these people have been in their homes for over 40 years. If this is the case they would be a very small minority. The houses at the Farmer Crescent area of Pomare were built approximately 50 years ago and tenants on the whole would have been tranisent by nature of the housing provided. The area up there had become a ghetto. The wisest course has been to demolish them bringing the area back to a reasonable standard.
