This article, and Hagel's sequel post, remind me of Lynda Gratton's book, The Shift: The Future of Work is Already Here.  There is a dark vision of the default future, but there is also a brighter version that we can choose to create for ourselves.  I appreciate a sober acknowledgment of the dark side.  We need to know the dark side.

Handy's key question, "What are we all about?" is perpetually relevant.  I love that he values not-knowing, asking rather than telling, wrestling with paradox.  I may go back and pick up his books for a re-read.
