Responses/Solutions to Human Rights

1. Protesting, the smallest form, but sometimes the strongest protesting through rallying is to gain support to change or stop violations of human rights. 

 

2. Political Intervention, through govermental interaction and pressure. (In theory) The United States pressing Ghana to stop possing bills that violate Human Rights. 

 

3. Military Intervention, the last resort is to send a force to protect those that feel their rights are being violated. This should be only considered once all other options are exhausted.

Human Rights United Nation Groups

1. UN General Assembly Third Committee(social, humanitarian, cultural) is chaired by H.E. Mr. Hussein Honiff of Malaysin. The assembly's agenda addresses issues of social, humanitarian, and human rights affairs. The Committee examines human rights questions then drafts resolutions to asses situations. 

 

2. UN Human Rights Council is responsible for strenghtening promotion & protection of human rights worldwide. As well as addressing situations of human rights violations and finding ways to assess specific issues. They meet at the UN Office at Geneva. The Council is made up of 47 UN member states, whom are elected by the UN General Assembly. 

 

3. Human Rights Watch, "One of the world's leading independent organizations decicated to defending and protecting Human Rights." HRW focuses international attention to places where Human Rights are violated. Using investgations & advocacy to pressure violations to be corrected through legal & moral groundwork. 

 

4. Human Rights Foundation, there aim is to ensure that freedom is both preserved and promoted in the Americas. Their mission to to "unite people" regardless of their political , cultural, and ideological orientations in the common cause of defending human rights and promoting liberal democracy in the Americas.
