Position Summary
The HR generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, benefit administration, performance management, training and development, employment, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and payroll management.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
-Partners with internal and client employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.
-Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
-Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
-Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations; represents management in investigating, answering and settling grievances.
-Represents the company and/or clients for any unemployment claims.
-Facilitates or provides training for company and/or client staff.
-Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
-Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt, nonexempt, students and temporary employees.
-Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
-Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
-Participates in leadership/administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as necessary.
-Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
-Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
-Maintains company and client organizational charts and employee directory.
-Creates and places advertisements.
-Responds to all EEOC and/or NLRB charges.
-Conducts new-hire orientation.
 
Skills and Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business, or a related field -Two to four years experience in a human resources generalist role.  -Equivalent experience and training may be substituted for education-Strong knowledge of human resources practices-Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels -Must have strong organization and time management skills
