In a suit involving the University of Pennsylvania Health System, the 3rd Circuit made clear that the ADA does not entitle employees to their preferred accommodations.
James Schreier's insight:

I'm posting this for more of a historical aspect.  During a long term teaching career of intro and advanced HR courses, I found the emerging issue of "reasonable accommodation" interesting.  Particularly when employers would make no attempt -- unacceptable, and then when some accommodations were either incredibly obvious -- and easy -- or extremely expensive. Fascinating problems to solve!
