Southern Homemade Pecan Pie Recipe Learn how to make this easy homemade southern pecan pie. It is sweet, loaded with pecans and sure to be a favorite at family get togethers. .video-container{text-align:center;} Ingredients: 4 large eggs 1 cup butter flavored pancake syrup 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar 4 Tbsp butter, melted 1 Tbsp flour 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1 cup pecan halves 9 pastry pie crust In a large bowl, combine eggs, pancake syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, flour and chopped pecans. Whisk until smooth. Pour into unbaked 9 pastry pie crust. Bake in a preheated 350*F oven for 45-55 minutes or until the center is just set. Watch the last 10 minutes of cooking to make sure pecans and pie don t brown too much and burn. If it s getting dark, tent the pie with a piece of aluminum foil and continue baking until center is just set. When done, remove from oven and let cool for 30 minutes to an hour. Slice and enjoy! Basic Sugar Cookie Recipe For Cut Out Cookies In this video Haniela shares how to make a basic sugar cookie for cut-out cookies along with tips for the best results. .video-container{text-align:center;} Ingredients: 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 2 sticks (1cup)butter, unsalted, softened to room temperature 1 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg, room temperature 1 tbsp vanilla extract, vanilla bean past or almond extract Sift together flour, baking powder, add salt, set aside. In a small dish whisk together egg and vanilla extract, set aside. In a mixing bowl cream together room temperature butter and sugar, about 5 minutes, scrape the bowl twice. Butter creamed with sugar should be light and fluffy. Gradually add vanilla egg mixture, beating anywhere from 30 seconds to minute until well mixed in. Now gradually in 3 additions add flour. Lower the speed of your mixer to low. Scrape the bowl well after the last addition and beat just until flour is combined.

Run for the Roses Chocolate Pie This is a rich pie that is similar to a pecan pie that is chocolate-flavored. Tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby. We live within minutes of Churchill Downs. Many people here in Louisville will either attend the Derby or have a cook-out at home. This pie is great for a Derby party! Ingredients: 2 cups sugar ¼ cup cocoa powder ¼ teaspoon salt 4 eggs, well-beaten 5-ounce can of evaporated milk 1 and 1/2 sticks butter, melted 2 teaspoons vanilla extract ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell whipped cream (optional) In a large mixing bowl, mix together sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Add beaten eggs, melted butter, and vanilla and mix thoroughly. Stir in nuts. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 375 degrees (F) for 10 minutes. Reduce oven heat to 350 degrees (F) and bake about 15 to 20 minutes longer. Remove from oven and cool completely. Garnish with whipped cream and sprigs of mint, if desired. Almond Flour Biscuits, Low Carb, Gluten Free, Wheat Free 1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons of Almond flour 1 tsp Aluminum Free Baking Powder 0.5 tsp Sea Salt 2 Tablespoons Butter ¾ cup egg whites (or 3 large whole eggs this will make the biscuits more yellow) Preheat oven to 400F. Mix almond flour, baking powder and salt together. Add butter and mix using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture is crumbly. Next, whisk the eggs until they are frothy and mix them with the almond flour mixture until combined. The batter will be thin. Place in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. Divide this into 4 or 6 portions (depending on how big you want your biscuits) and place in a well-greased muffin top pan. Bake right away for 10-12 minutes. Remove when golden brown.
