Metallica is known for being a pain in the, you know what for people that they feel have wronged them. Napster was no acceptation as Metallica sued them for selling their music without there consent. They claimed that they are all about standing up for artists and their control of their music. Metallica also sued there own recording company for don’t giving them freedom with there records. Metallica has never backed down from anyone that messes with their music and wont change any time soon.

Another Death at the again of 27, Kurt Cobain was a rock icon from “Generation X”. His band mates Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl wanted to honor Kurt by releasing a 2 Disc live album, which became a huge success, as the album was atop the British and American billboards from day one. After the release of the album and Kurt’s death, Novoselic and Grohl went there separate ways and started there own bands.

AC/DC, Alternating current and direct current would soon become the name of Angus and Malcolm Young’s band after their sister came across the name on a vacuum cleaner. Angus and Malcolm felt that the name was what they were looking for and fit perfectly. Along with finding a name, Margaret Young also came up with the idea of her brother Angus to wear is school uniform. The idea she had is now the staple of the band is what helps set them different from other bands around the world.

Led Zeppelin and Cream once again headlined the influences from little known Black Sabbath or at the time Earth Blues company. The dark and gloomy life of factory work was not in the card for Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Gezzer Butler and they work hard at their music so they could one day leave that place. The Mod looking and soul music man Ozzy began by wearing psychedelic outfits like other bands at the time.

The early 60’s were not too pleasant to the Beatles as they traveled to Germany to boost their popularity before they were big. When they got to Hamburg they were in for a ruin awakening. They slept in a movie theatre and never acquired the money they were told they would get. Along with that was hole in the wall nightclubs, was the ever-lasting days and the little experience. The awful trip ended out of nowhere when George Harrison was deported for the country.

The significance of the Doors should not be underestimated. The Stones were dirty, but the Doors were dread.

“Light My Fire” helped propel the Doors self-titled album to become one of the highest grossing albums of its time. This was really when the Doors became who they were with Jim Morrison and all of the controversy that swarmed him on a daily bases. “The End” started all of this, it scared producer Paul Rothchild and the manager at the Whisky a go-go which ultimately resulted in him kicking out Jim Morrison from the bar.

The Who pounded out singles like it was nobody’s business. “I Can’t Explain”, “Substitute”, “I’m A Boy” and “My Generation” that coined the phrase “Hope I die before I get old” where majorly influenced by the “Mod” fashion styles that where popular in those days.

Chas Chandler the bassist from Animals discovered Jimi in and helped move him to London to start making records. Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding joined what would be called the Jimi Hendrix Experience. They swept through the United Kingdom with legendary songs “Hey Joe” and “Purple Haze”.  Those legendary songs were also on Jimi’s first album “Are You Experienced” which also featured “The Wind Cries Mary”. All of this craziness was happening in the short time spanned of the mid-60’s.

Van Halen released their self-named album in 1978.  The album contained Eddie Van Halen blowing the minds of rockers from all over with the way he revolutionized the guitar. The album featured “Runnin With the Devil” and “You Really Got Me” a cover from the iconic rock band The Kinks.  All of that and add David Lee Roth’s style of showmanship and singing brought a new flavor to rock in roll in the late 70’s.

1966 was a tremendous year for Rock n Roll.  Great albums such as the Beatles' "Revolver" and Bob Dylan's "Blonde on Blonde" over shadowed another legendary bands first “all-original” album “Aftermath” from The Rolling Stones. They waited there turn and a year later they were on the “Ed Sullivan Show” and sang “Lets Spend The Night Together”. During the Song Mick Jagger had to change the controversial lyrics for TV.

You have some interesting info here, but make sure this all ties together, proves your thesis and makes assertions about the evolution of a rock and roll culture. Avoid giving random facts about bands and their albums.
