Who Owns RE|?

On Monday 19th September, we will begin a discussion (which we need to revisit during the year) on the subject of 'Who owns RE?' A handle on this is essential if we are to understand the constraints placed on RE in terms of time, teachers, resources and the place in the curriculum. In turn, these constraints have led to implications for the types of pedagogy generally used in classrooms. This ongoing discussion is important for looking to the future development of RE and to consider what kind of RE teacher you want to be.
