Students debate on Lyngdoh panel

NEW DELHI: The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) on Saturday held a national convention, challenging the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations on students' union elections. Speaking during the convention, Member of Parliament D Raja said the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations need to be reviewed as “Lyngdoh could not connect with the student politics and that is why his recommendations are going against the democratic politics”.

Centre paves way for arrears to higher education teachers

NEW DELHI: In a significant development, MHRD has decided to relax the condition of enhancement of retirement age of teachers to 65 years in state institutions for the implementation of the revised pay scales on the basis of sixth pay commission recommendations. Such institutions are now eligible to receive Central share of 80% of the arrear payment.

JNU, DU get funds for making campuses friendly for the disabled
