Illumination was another area where the gothic style was put to work, only this was with books. Illumination is the decoration of a book or manuscript with a painted design in color, gold, etc. Other arts that came about during this time period included stain glass, religious painting, and woven art. Pope Gregory was a very generous man.  He helped the sick and the poor, and alwasy heped people in need. The Pope not only believed in helping others, but took on an obvious important part of the church. While his pope serving times Pope Gregor reformed the mass along with founding new monatries. Pope Gregory was strongly influenced in shaping medieval papacy.
