Jake 's insight:

This is the Beatles song that i am learning on guitar. I love the good feeling it brings because it is a refreshing song. To me, the song represents a new start. I think this because it was written in spring at the first sighting of the sun for the year by George Harrison. Typically spring also represents life and new beginnings as well because all the flowers are growing back and life is returning to the world after the long and lonely winter.

The Language of the Beatles' Abbey Road

The Language of the Beatles' Abbey Road | Here Comes The Sun | Scoop.it
This infographic breaks down the words from the Beatles Album, "Abbey Road." It provides information for the number of words on the album and the most
Jake 's insight:

It's fascinating to see how many words the Beatles used in some of their songs. They were so talented and use so many different references and words. We find that many of their songs used at least 20% of the same words throughout the whole album. Maybe this is what made them great though; maybe this is why they are legendary. They used similar words because they were sticking to a similar theme throughout their whole album and that is what drew in so many people.

LinkedIn | "Is the Secret to Success Really 10,000 Hours?" by Ryan Holmes, CEO at HootSiute | Here Comes The Sun | Scoop.it
Whether you’re writing computer code or hit songs, if you want to be as successful as Bill Gates or the Beatles, you might want to set aside 10,000 hours. At least that’s what Malcolm

Via Franklin Delano Williams
Jake 's insight:

I had heard before that 10,000 hours was the number to success. As i read more and more about these kinds of things i find that that is a pretty accurate number. Most people do not log their hours specifically, but they are doing a task that they love and through that, they find time to make it up to 10,000 hours. The Beatles spent well over the 10,000 hours on their music. They lived for music and that is why they are considered the greatest band ever by many people. I guess i'll just have to put in my hours.

Four Years With the Beatles
Daily Beast
The Beatles' most trusted photographer was a friend, not a fan.
Jake 's insight:

It's awesome to get a perspective on the Beatles from somebody who actually spent a good amount of time around them. It sounds to me like they were some really incredible men with many great qualities. I like that they had their own photographer that they liked. He got the real pictures of them. He didn't take a bunch of posed pictures of the band; he got the live ones that captured them in their essence.

George Harrison Interview on Spirituality, The Purpose of Living, and The Moment of Death (George Harrison Interview – On Spirituality and What’s Important In Life http://t.co/t3nzls1MK8...
Jake 's insight:

George Harrison was a wise man. As were all the Beatles. They knew that there is too much garbage and evil in the world. The Beatles try to teach people that all you need is love in your life and everything will be great. George Harrison tried to tell us that you need not be so busy and moving all the time. That people need to just sit back and enjoy the music. We need to be content with doing nothing sometimes. He tried to show us that there are answers to all our questions if we just turn our ears to them.

Remember When?

Remember When? | Here Comes The Sun | Scoop.it
April 10 marks the 43rd anniversary of the breakup of The Beatles, one of the most beloved rock bands in history.
Jake 's insight:

It's so sad that the Beatles ever decided to break up. Many people believe that it was Yoko Ono that broke up the group. She says that there was no way any outside force could have broken them up; that it had to be an internal quarrel. However, i think that she had some influence over the breakup. She had the power to get inside Lennons head and influence him in some ways. Regardless of what anybody says, it is a shame that such a groud breaking group ever had to disband.

The Beatles and their impact on English

The Beatles and their impact on English | Here Comes The Sun | Scoop.it
The annual IATEFL Conference is being held this week in Liverpool, a city forever associated with the Beatles.
Jake 's insight:

The Beatles had such an amazing impact on English and Music. The sixties is referenced more times then any other decade because of these guys. Prior to the Beatles, foreign bands tried to sound as American as they could. They would use American slang and reference American places. The Beatles started the "British Invasion" and allowed a new light to shine on British references. Their music became so influential that it was the center of many peoples lives.

Paul McCartney's words of wisdom on 50th anniversary - Irish Central

Paul McCartney's words of wisdom on 50th anniversary - Irish Central | Here Comes The Sun | Scoop.it
Paul McCartney (Q Magazine)You gotta love a rock star knight and the way he asserts his supremacy without doing so at the expense of others During their nineties heyday, Oasis routinely compared themselves to the Beatles ...
Jake 's insight:

This is a very humble way of saying that they are great. Oasis is aspiring to be the next Beatles, but they don't need to be. That's what Paul McCartney is trying to say! He's saying that they should aspire to be better than the Beatles! But he also goes on to say that it is not easy to live up to the Beatles reputation. Which is very true considering they basically changed everything the world knew about music. Such an influential group.
